Matthew is always on the lookout for new cultivars of native trees; this variegated tulip poplar is one of them! Tulip poplars are related to Magnolias, and are one of the most common and tallest trees in Appalachian forests. Their common name either comes from their orange and green tulip-like flowers, or the outline of their truncate leaves.
