The Gardens

Rosemont was named for the lovely rose gardens grown by the Netherland family. According to lore, the Netherland girls returned from boarding school and remarked that the house should be named Rosemont, in recognition of their mother’s beautiful rose gardens.  We are trying to maintain this history by planting as many roses as we can, particularly historic and fragrant roses. With the exception of the mature trees on the property, Matthew & Shawn have planted nearly everything you see, including an additional 60 trees.
