The Dining Room

In addition to the grand crystal chandelier, this room features two prominent pieces of furniture original to the Netherland family - the buffet and china cabinet.

 

The china laid out on the table originally belonged to Shawn’s maternal grandmother, who received it as a wedding gift in 1935. Shawn and Matthew routinely use this china for holidays and special occasions.

 

Additional china sets in the cabinet include the wedding china of Matthew and Mary Ellen Elkins, as well as other patterns acquired from local second-hand stores.
